For the past few months I've been getting a really sharp pain down my left shoulder blade. At first I thought It was muscular but when Its massaged and rubbed the pain goes really deep and sharp. I've been taking paracetamol but that doesn't work. Could it be a trapped nerve?

Think it could be a Repetative Strain Injury picked up from work.

My best guess is a torn muscle. I know, they are not fun. Get it checked by a doctor and see what he as to say. Hope you get better!

I suffer from Hypermobility & RSD syndrome and recently had a bout of pain in my left shoulder & neck. one good way to ease this is to improve your posture.( my physio actually taped up my shoulders for 4 days pulling my shoulders back & chest out- only draw back. my chest is not exactly small so I didn’t see my feet for 4 days!!).It really works. I also invested in a "memory foam pillow" and this has helped greatly. Ask your Gp to refer you to a Physiotherapist as a start!
Hope this helps I sympathise with you I know how painful this is

Good Luck

It is probably a pinched nerve in your NECK. It would feel like it is your shoulder when its not. Pops

You need to get an MRI. Everything else is a guess while this will show what's wrong.

It could be either. You really need to be examined to make a diagnosis, go see your GP.
