The moon is of no importance to the earth.
It is of great importance to life as it is known to we humans on it. We evolved to be in sync with the tides, the schedule of sunrise and set, and the seasonal weather changes.

The Moon's gravity controls tides on the Earth. Tides cause erosion at the edges of landmasses, which have an effect on the Earth. Some scientists say that the Earth's liquid mantle is also affected by tides, affecting various seismic events like volcanoes and earthquakes.
If there was no Moon, there would likely be less life on the surface of the Earth. Life evolved in the oceans, and moved onto the lands in the tidal zones. Without tides--or with greatly reduced tides, as the Sun causes tides, too--life would have had a harder time moving onto the land.

it incredibly is genuine that the water will shoot out to area with out gravity, in spite of the undeniable fact that it does no longer reason tsunamis to ensue. It basically happens whilst an earthquake hits a physique of water. we rely on gravity to hold down issues and it prevents them from floating and flying around. Gravity is a sort of tension and we degree tension in Newtons. The moon "shares" its gravity with the Earth, and explanation why we've basically one moon is on the grounds that if there is too a brilliant number of gravity, this is going to kill us. Jupiter's moons, has a no - gravity environment.

Because it's romantic.
It inspires poets.
Wolves and werewolves howl at the moon.
Without the moon, the night sky would be all black. How boring.
