Mercury is the closest planet to the sun in the Sol System. Venus is the second and Earth is the third.

It's "Mercury", not "Mecury". Mercury is the planet closest to the Sun and, as a result, is never far from the Sun in the sky. At the moment it is in the dawn sky, rising slightly before the Sun, in the constellation Aries.
