Which plugs does it foul? Are the plugs gas fouled (clear wet), oil fouled (black oily wet) or carbon fouled (black dry).

If 1&4 or 2&3 constantly foul, then you are looking at an ignition problem. The plugs will probably be black and dry. Depending on the model, you may have points or TCBI. Either are easy to toubleshoot. Contact me if you need more info.

If just one plug fouls, or two next to each other, then it's probably a dirty carb situation. Due to the bikes age it may need a good cleaning and new float valves.

Worn valve guide seals will also cause oil fouling, but you would know when you start the bike because it would smoke out the entire neighborhood. Normaly it's the left one that goes bad due to the bike sitting on the side stand and leaning left I guess.

I've had the same problem with a couple bikes after I got them too lean. The plugs would look perfect, but with a jewelers loupe I could see bits of aluminum on the tip which can cause the plug to short out intermittently. The motor would sputter at roll on but kick in and run great at hight rpm. Richen up a bit and see if that helps, unless you can see the plugs are indicating an obvious rich condition. Or do what I always end up doing. Take it to someone who knows what they're doing, and a dyno if possible.

The most common culprit of gas fouling is a sticky float or leaky float needle in a carb.

Its either running rich or could be the wrong plug not alowwing a hot enough spark, or the coil not letting the plug get enough spark.

Hi - the answer is 3.7 liters or 3.25 quarts. The KZ1000 is a 4 stroke which means the gas and oil are not mixed. Jawa Dude is good for the smaller 2 stroke engines.
