piercing your own lip???

how does one pierce their own lip without it getting infected or hurting too bad???

First off you need to use a hollow 16 guage piercing needle so it wont get infected. I don't think it is a good idea to do it yourself anyway, I would just go to a shop. My guess is your too young most likely and you shouldn't do it at all. If the spot where you do the piercing gets infected on your lip it will scar and you will end up with a fat lip too, so think about the ramifications first.

One of my friends did it during our Freshmen year of high school. She numbed her lip with ice for a while then she stuck a needle in. She said it didn't hurt too bad but she felt her skin rip. The hole ended up being waayyy to small for the piercing so she was left with a little black dot under her lip. Personally, I really wouldn't recommend piercing your own lip. If you're gonna get a lip piercing anyway, whether your Mom likes it or not, you might as well just try to get it done professionally some how. But it's totally up to you. Be careful though. Don't forget to sterilize the needle. There's still a big chance it could get infected though.

My friend just pierced his own lip and it's so infected, he can't talk or eat properly.

I think lip piercings are a bad idea full stop, but if you must do it then definitely don't do it at home, it's more than likely going to get infected.

that is DEFINITELY NOT recommended........piercing anything by urself is bad but especially the lip is a big no no.....the mouth is where so many things can go wrong....u can get infections really easily because food and bacteria can get into the piercing etc....

if u really want ur lip pierced i would advise u to seek a professional

It's a risk not worth taking, people who pierce there own lip generally don't have the knowledge or skill of a professional piercer. Pay and have it done professionally.

get it done by a PROFESSIONAL if u can, or put ice on ur lip till it gets numb, then pierce.. u wont even feel it but u have a 99% chance of it getting infected, good luck! :)

Why would u want one? Do u want ur bf or significant other to lead u around like a cow? Do u want to have to worry about salad getting stuck in ur piercing as well as ur teeth? r u going to Peirce ur lips shut so u can't speak? This is like the teens who wear the loose jeans, that sag halfway down ur butt, and they look like they S.H.I.T. themselves and r wearing loose diapers. I believe in expressing oneself individuality, but not making urself look like an idiot in the process. If I see someone like that...it would make me think has this person had a partial lobotomy. Please don't do it.....there r other things u can do.

There is a great chance for infection if the needle you are using is n ot sterilized, also the location is important in making sure it will not tear.I would recommend getting it done proffessionaly to avoid any complications, they will also provide you with a surgical stainless steal material for your ring.****YOU MIGHT REGRET THE SCAR&*****If you have a pretty face.

Use a hollow needle hun... 16 is best, because that is the size of the jewelry for it. first mark where you want it, so you know where you want it to be.. If you are not good with pain, you should either ice it, or use orajel or ambasol on the inside (i.e. numbing agent). after that, find something comforting (i use music, so i can sing while i do it) and just stick it through.. If you go slow, it will hurt more.

use bactine to clean it!!
its going to swell for a few days, dont worry- its completly normal!!

good thing i found u.
get a safety pin, or the lip labret, and really clean the whole area of ur lip w/ rubbing alcohol even the inside of ur lip. mark the place where u want it. oh dont forget to dis infect the piercing tool 2. get sum ice.....count 1........2...........3......and poke. dont take it out 4 like...2 or 3 weeks and dont eat any soup and try 2 avoid hot/ warm drinks
