Depending on the shape of the face and skull structure, it can be pretty attractive. I grew my goatee, (mustacheless,) pretty much while nobody was looking. I've been ordered by a number of family members to keep it, and friends that I hadn't seen in close to 20 years said I looked the same as I did in highschool; it looked so natural on me, they just didn't notice it. It's fairly easy for me to maintain. I just shave around it, when it starts to itch, I run the clippers over it. And I've had friends that grew mustaches, goatees, and beards with opposite results. Far and away the worst had a beard when he came back from vacation and you couldn't help but think that a small, furry creature wherever he'd been had died with an advanced case of mange and he'd decided to wear the pelt as a mask. I don't hate shaving, so much as the time and effort that goes into it. Which can be more difficult when I'm hungover. I can shave my arms, (I'm a mechanic, it makes it easier to get the grease off,) in the shower in 1 minute, and spend 10 shaving my face. D

The perfect beard trimmer is made by Wahl.

Be prepared to shell out some serious money, though.

I believe mine was about a fifty dollars.

Yeah, it is. I have a Wahl cordless/corded that petered out after several years. My wife recently got me a conair battery operated and even tho they put a crapload of extras in the box the main thing is does it work. Yes, I like it alot. She got it online if you are interested let me know, she takes email. Probably ebay knowing her.

I've always used Wahl clippers.
My current set is nigh on 20 year old, & still going strong, and spares are readily available.. :)
