Hi im looking for some free software , that you type a word into and it will say that word. Eg if i typed into the program"the dog was brown" A voice would read that senetence out Please Help

That is called either "Text to Speech" software, or "Speech Synthesis" software. Your computer probably has some installed already:
Microsoft Windows comes with a Text-to-Speec engine:

such programs are called text to speach engines. If you are using Windows XP, a text to speach enging is built into it.
Use following procedure:
click start, then control penel. click classic view (if it is not already in classic view). You will find an icon "speach". Double click it to open Speach Properties dialogue.
Type your sentense in "Use the following text to preview voice" and then click "Preview Voice". You can change speed and pitch of the voice as well. Hope that answers the question
