Ok so every year for my birthday a couple of my friends always continually ask what i want until they end up giving it away because they want to make sure i like it. So this year i just wrote down a short list of a few things i wanted so they wouldnt bug me about it. But now they're like "That was so bratty of you to make a list. You're so greedy" and theyre all mad at me! Do you think they have a right to be mad or what?

No, because they always ask you. Just say that you always ask me, so here are a few ideas.

I don't think it is a case of one side or the other. I think it is just a case of miscommunication. Explain to them why you made the list and hope they will get over it. If not, then they aren't that great of friends. Next time, wait for them to ask you, then make a list.

i think because they wanted to have a list, that they shouldn't be mad at you. Don't just get mad at them because that will make you go to there level... talk it out... maybe they aren't your real friends

they have no need to be mad at you because they were the ones who always asked you what you wanted, and in actuallity you were doing them a favor.don't get mad, they'll come along one day

You did them a favor by saving them the effort. But, truly, a gift is about the sentiment not the actual item itself

Well, your thinking was good, but, perhaps your delivery was somewhat flawed. You were hoping to save them and you some trouble, and ended up causing yourself more trouble, cause you didn't anticipate how they might misread your well intentioned efforts.

That is what you need to tell them. "Well, I meant well, but, I guess I sort of screwed it up." An apology will do then.

Maybe they were just kidding because it's your birthday and they don't want you to know what they are going to get you. I bet that's what it is, because they care for you to find out what you want and that you like it.

I have no idea as of what they expect. It's not like they absolutely have to get you everything that's on the list.

They don't have a right to be mad. Dogs get "mad", people get angry. The list, was a bit "TACKY". S-o-r-r-y.
