Just thinking about it sends tremors of fear through other teams. You should have seen how hyper the ESPN analysts were when they heard the Patriots acquired Moss.
I quote (Trey Wingo) "I don't care what anyone else does this offseason, the Patriots are the definite favorite for the Super Bowl, what with having now maybe the best offense and best defense in the league at this time."
(Sean Salisbury) "Tom Brady to Randy Moss and Dante Stallworth? Look out, NFL! The best quarterback in the league hooking up with the one of the best, if not the most talented reciever in the league? Scary."
I mean look how far the Patriots got last year with what they had. Now look what they have, and tell me they're not going to the Super Bowl. It's like a given now.

The Pats success is already guaranteed, without Moss. You picked up Adalius Thomas in the offseason, which is a great pickup for you guys. Donte Stallworth is decent, and needed to get the hell outta Philly. Rodney Harrison speaks for himself, having him back healthy is a HUGE addition to your team. Brandon Meriweather may or may not see much playing time.
Randy Moss is the X factor. Will he be the huge impact that he was in Minnesota? Or will he be the malcontent that he was in Oakland? Time will tell.
But even without Moss, you guys have got the premiere team in the NFL this year. Kudos to your front office for pulling out a spectacular off-season. Just have a bad game against the Ravens this year! ;-)

I answered this question a month ago and now im even scared. Randy Moss is another great aquisition and he will not be a problem in the Patriots season. He is not a bad seed like the media seems to want to speculate recently. The man just wants to spend his last couple years winning a championship. Aside from all that jazz, im just really nervous about how good the patriots are looking this year. Everything seems to be clicking a little too well. The Patriots need to keep Brady injury-free to secure a Super Bowl.
Lets analyze the main offensive position players:
QB: Brady(10); Cassel(6) -Brady is #1 QB, protect him!
HB: Mahroney(8); Morris(6)-Needs to be consistent.
WR: Moss(9); Stallworth(8); Welker(8); Gaffney(7); Washington(7);
Caldwell(7); Jackson (6); -Amazing Depth, won't see enough use with short passing schemes though.
TE: Watson(8); Brady(7); -Great blocking and catching abilities

They still won't get past the Colts.
Honestly, I don't think the Patriots got that much better this year. They lost Corey Dillon, Daniel Graham, and will most likely lose Asante Samuel. In addition, Adalius Thomas and Randy Moss are both 30 years old, Bruschi and Rodney Harrison are pratically done, and Maroney just disappeared during the playoffs.
When you look closely, the Pats aren't that much better than last year. Their receivers sure improved a lot, but their aging players and the loss of DIllon, Graham (and maybe Samuel), is gonna hurt them a lot.

Absolutely! Despite what those two fools say above me, the Pats have a monster team this year. Losing Dillon is minor seeing as he couldn't run anymore. He was slower than A. Smith for Godssakes! Graham was an excellent blocker and decent reciever but the pats have so many TE thats but really an issue and we do still have Watson. Randy Moss ran a 4.29 40 for the Packers and Patriots before the trade. Him being 30 is nothing as he still has all the physical skills that made him a Superfreak in Minny. 13-3 or 14-2 seems about right for their record this year.

All that sounds good but...
Randy Moss is getting old and he's STILLlflakey.
Rodney Harrison; another old man.
No one is afraid of Dante Stallworth.
The D ain't bad but can still be had.
No one is truly afraid of NE anymore.
This is the year they come in as a wild card.

I think it is funny that you think Moss is going to be great. Although I don't put much stock in Stallworth right now either. So what happens if Stallworth has injury problems AGAIN and Moss is exposed for what he is? Do you like your crow cooked or raw?

Don't forget Vrebal, Colvin, Samuel, Semore, Watson and Wes Welken. I think Welken will be Brady's go to guy this year. He plays the slot like Troy Brown in the hay day. It's going to be interesting to see this season unfold. Go Patriots!!!!!

I'm actually not sure about that. It seems like their philosophy suddenly changed. Before, they seemed to be very particular about who they got for their team. All of their pickups looked like they addressed needs at a very reasonable cost. Now, I'm not sure. It looks like they have a lot of talent, but why splurge now when spending responsibly worked so well in the past? I don't get it. We'll have to see how it plays out.

Yeah...that's tight that they got Moss. He's a big baby tho. He coulda been ok in Oakland he just was stubborn and had to have his way. I hope he gets his *** together and actually balls now.
