what impression do we get of othello from other characters and our own impressions of him? Please answer detailed because the more detailed the answer, the more likely you are to get the points. Thanks

In the beginning, othello is viewed as brave and courageous. Shakespeare has made him a valiant man to set him up to fall.(that's why the play is a tragedy) The Duke even trusts Othello enough to send him to cyprus to fight the turks.
Iago and roderigo are jealous of him and can't wait to see him fall. They even convince Brabantio (desdemona's father) that Ohtello used withcraft to get Desdemona to marry him.

Othello is a braggart. He brags to impress Desamona. Also Iago is not over considered about Othello's tall talk, Iago is just upset he's been passed over for a promotion in O's army.
