This is something that I have wondered for a while because I know people who will say that a person is ugly until they hear their voice and they have an accent, then they change their mind and say they are attractive.

It's something they aren't used to hearing, I guess, so they find the accent quite charming, not necessarily the person.

I never decide whether or not a person is ugly till I get to know them. I had a huge crush on this totall hot guy-then he opened his mouth and he was a monster. But I think accents are hot, just as long as the guy is real nice.

I'm not the most suitable person to answer that, cause I'm a sucker for voices and accents. Particularly, love the British accent.
But give me any soft voice (saying the right things of course) and you've got me!

I love to hear a woman with a spanish accent but she still has to be atttactive physiccaly. If she is ugly no manner of accent is gonig to change that.

I find certain accents attractive yes, but other than that personality will always matter too me still, no matter how sweet the accent sounds.......;)

They suddenly become mysterious being from a different place means that we can almost be a different person. Also preconcieved ideas that go along with the accent such as stereotyping etc.

They're different. Change is the spice of life and hearing a different way of saying the same old thing makes you want to listen. It attracts you the very same way a new pair of shoes that might hurt your feet attract you. They're different.

Because it's something different from the usual I guess. They are more noticable because of their accent.

I know what you mean.
When I lived in the pacific northwest, my office would get bombarded with guys wanting to hear me talk with my "sexy southern accent"
and here we couldn't wait to get away from the southern accents when we moved up there. LOL

It depends, I myself do not find the east coast or southern accents attractive, but Austrailian, English and Irish accents are hot! (in my opinion) Ugly in the face is ugly, it doesnt matter what accent you have! (again, my opinion)
