No, "emeritus" is very close, but I think it's something different.

There is no one single Latin word for one who once was president but no longer is. The closest you can get is "ex-president".

"former president" works as well as "past president".

"previous president" also works, but only as "the president immediately before the current/present president".

"president emeritus" is not used to refer to a former president of the U.S. It is used for someone who served as the president of a college/business, is retired "honorably" from the position, and was bestowed the title "emeritus" in appreciation/honor of the great job he/she did.

As far as I know it doesn't include Latin.
I've always heard call this kind of person with the English term "Past-President"
