I have very dry/combination skin. I need to use a pretty potent facial moisturizer due to the flaking that can occur on my face. Whenever I've tried to wear any type of foundation over the moisturizer my face was left looking like I stuck it in a bowl of coconut flakes or the makeup will recede into smears across my face. I'll start to put the foundation on and immediately my skin reacts, turns dry, will literally start to peel up or it will look like I have grease smears on my face. I've tried expensive brands and nothing works. What can I do??

Sensitive skin usually reacts poorly to products that contain talc. Try using a talc-free makeup (like Bare Minerals). I like Maybelline's Pure Makeup (it's 50% water). Another think I think might help is using a primer (usually made by department store brands like M.A.C.). The primer creates a barrier between your skin and your makeup, protecting your skin from irritation, while giving your makeup a smooth base.

If you haven't already, see a dermatologist. There might be a medication that can help you. It turned out my flakes were due to seborrheic dermatitis (basically, face dandruff).

I hope I helped!

Try this, and I can even send you samples (if you are 18 or over). Mary Kay makes a Timewise cleanser for dry skin. Follow that with the Mary Kay Timewise moisturizer also for dry skin. For further hydration, you may need to use their Intense moisturizing creme. The foundation would be the Mary Kay full coverage foundation (designed for dry skin). You will be surprised to the difference your skin will look if you first prep with with the cleanser and moisturizer. I have done demonstrations by just putting foundation on one hand and following the directions above on my other hand, and you can see a difference. Without the prep, the foundation settles into the lines and looks dry etc. Mary Kay in not an expensive brand (middle of the road), but it does work very well. check out www.marykay.com/rebecca

I fairly have very mushy pimples-carriers pores and skin and inspite of this, I do nonetheless constantly positioned on commencing place it fairly is simply by fact I fairly have observed that my ruin-outs are not simply by commencing place, as I basically constantly get them specifically I do be conscious that I ruin out from particular foundations, inspite of the undeniable fact that this is in no way fairly simply by a particular kind, which sucks cos I could constantly be careful once I try issues out yet, each and every so often I do get some spots once I first try one out, yet then after a whilst of using it my pores and skin is high-quality with it :] i did no longer think of i may well be conscious a difference by switching to a BB cream, inspite of the undeniable fact that it fairly does appear as if my pores and skin is plenty extra effective and fit as a effect. i take advantage of a Garnier one and the colour selection is slightly pooey I reckon, as i take advantage of the 'mild' pores and skin and have olive pores and skin. yet whilst your pores and skin tone suits, you ought to objective theirs out. If no longer, maximum different manufacturers have accompanied the BB cream hype too ^.^ the excellent factor on the subject of the Garnier ones is they have distinctive ones for each kind of distinctive pores and skin varieties, alongside with mushy, which you're able to try in case you think of you ruin out actual ^.^ fairly stay faraway from MAC foundations and powders. they are among the worst manufacturers for pores and skin in terms of breaking out and spots. i myself do opt to objective their foundations, yet i be attentive to it would likely finally end up with extensive pimples breakouts.
