I took the Princeton Review courses when I took the MCAT, and it was worth every penny. I did it twice because MCAT scores expire quickly, so I had to retake the test.

Figure out your optimal study style. Do you like working in groups? Classrooms? On the computer?

Kaplan is good if you study best independently and if you like working online. This may be an advantage for the new computer-based test. Kaplan does give their students a ton of books and materials.

Princeton Review is good if you like structured learning. They offer more classroom time than Kaplan. Their books are pretty good. They offered many timed practice tests. I like studying in groups, so this was the best option for me. I'd get together after-hours with other Princeton Review people and do timed practice problems. We'd discuss testing tactics and so forth.

Prep courses cost about $1200. It's a lot of money, but it's worth it if you don't want to take any chances on your application process.
