My opinion on breast reductions are that sometimes they're absolutely necessary! I'm 21 years old and I had one 2 years ago. I was a 40DD when I stopped measuring and I was avg ht/wt, so I had a lot of problems. What I can recommend for you is that you do your homework before you jump right in. Look at plastic surgeons in your area and meet with more than one for a consultation. Ask around with friends or co-workers to see if they've had any plastic surgery and would recommend anyone. Some doctors have different opinions on how much should be taken off, and insurance will only cover it if they take off a certain weight (usually 500 grams per breast). Full recovery will take about 3 weeks but by the end of the first week you'll feel better. If you're very large I recommend it. It was the best thing that I did to help my body. For the most part I don't have as much back pain and overall I feel better about myself. I'm at about a 38C now and I love it, and so does my hubby! =) But seriously...if you're really big and you find a doctor you can trust, then do what you have to do to better yourself. It's worth it. Hope that helps, God bless.

Plastic Surgeons perform this procedure. A breast lift is actually part of the Breast Reduction. I am 21 and 5'3 and I had my reduction 12 days ago. I went from a 34G to a 34DD( I still wanted big boobs) It is the best thing I have ever done. I couldn't stop staring at them as soon as I woke up in recovery- I went from 3 handfuls per breast to 1 and a bit handfuls, it's still very exciting for me!! You should see a few different plastic surgeons or go to one who you have been referred to. I actually only saw one plastic surgeon because my boss had implants done by him, and as soon as I met him I knew he was the one.
Any breast surgery, implants, lifts, reductions are fantastic. Anything to make a woman feel more comfortable and beautiful has my vote :)

Are they hurting your back? If so, then breast surgery is the best way to go. In the long run it will affect the curviture of your spine which will make it appear as if you have a hunchback. This is call kyphosis. Another approach is diet and exercise. Strengthening your back with weight bearing exercises will let you be able to handle this load and you'll feel great too.

You should see at least THREE plastic surgeons that are in your health insurance coverage. Make sure you check out their before and after pictures and ask LOTS of questions if they don't already answer them for you.

I had a reduction with lift in Feb 2006 and have never regretted it. My back pain was immediately GONE when I woke in the recovery room.

I saw three plastic surgeons and went with the second one, after researching the doctor via Google and http://www.locateadoc.com and http://www.breasthealthonline.com .

That last link, has a great support and FAQ and "what to ask your doctor" sections, it helped me out TONS before and after surgery.
