This girl is so rude! She's in regular classes for one subject out of the day. It happens to be my math class. I was very nice to her the first day...I welcomed her with open arms, and even was the only one to talk to her. Come to find out she's in SEC because she doesn't behave. She dropped her pen, and when I went to pick it up she rolled her wheel chair over my fingers!! I screamed & pushed the chair off my hand. She does this to everyone. She'll either roll her heavy chair over your fingers, or your toes/feet. Some kid got pissed and tipped her chair in the hallway, now she's taking it out on everyone. What should I do?

It is not unusual for children with disabilities to act out. Of course they're angry because they're stuck in a wheelchair while everyone else is running around having fun. It isn't difficult to imagine becoming bitter over this.

Please continue to be kind and helpful whenever you can. She may have a behavioral disorder that makes things worse.

The very young, the very old and the people who need help are the ones who teach us patience, tolerance and kindness.

It was good of you to make a friendly gesture towards her. At this point in her life, she may have felt that it was just pity, which fosters resentment when you are disabled.

Continue to smile whenever you get a chance. Hopefully she will come to feel that your offer of friendship is genuine and she will open up to you more. Good luck to you.

1. Keep being nice - you're not doing her a favor you're just being a decent human being

2. Stop putting your fingers on the floor so she can run over them...

3. Tipping her chair over in the hall...classy

Well, for one thing, I'd make sure I'm wearing brass knuckles so that when she rolls her wheel chair over my fingers, they don't break.

I hate when handicapped people take out their frustration on us able bodied people. They seem to forget who makes the ramps and crutches for them and don't forget the special Olympics ! It's not our fault she was born with no spine. I think you should show her who's in charge . Next time it rains , push her outside and take the air out of her tire. That will learn her good . .......... Can you give me her number ?
