How do I add a song to powerpoint video I made?

I am trying to put a song I have on a cd into a video I put together of many different pictures and such. I am having trouble getting the song to play through. I can get it to play on slide one, but then that is is. Please help.

Go to insert>Movies and Sound>Sound from file.To keep the music playing for more than the current slide, right-click on the music icon and select Custom Animation. Then, in the Custom Animation task pane, click the drop-down arrow to the right of your sound file and choose Effect Options. In the Stop Playing section, select "After # slides" and fill in the # with the number of your last slide. This works for 2003 version.
If you have an earlier version go to Slide Show menu>Custom animation>Multimedia Settings and set After # slides.
