If there are human beings residing on Mars, then they have performed a quite solid interest of concealing their launch from Earth, the biomarkers they go away on Mars, themselves and ultimately dig an finished underground international that they can stay in without ever coming to the exterior. :)

There is a real good chance that live may have gained a toehold on Mars, since it was once awash with water. Water is one of the essential elements required to support life.

There is a small but as yet unexplained amount of Methane in the Martian atmosphere. One possible explanation is subsurface microbial activity.

Maybe, I don't know... There might of been a civilization there once before Earth was even created in the first place... then got wiped out somehow.

They might of died out over time, or they just might of migrated from the 4th planet to the 3rd.
