Actually I liked seeing all the smaller nations playing and they did quite well, I think however that the second round (super eight) should be eliminated. It ought to be a knockout , for example: Two teams from each pool go through the winner plays against the second team in another pool and so on for the rest .abd in no time you have the semis and the final voila!
And on another note South Africa should be barred from playing in the next WC because of that pathetic performance against Australia.

While the cricket world cup 2007 was a long event, authorities have confirmed that the total duration of the next world cup ill be one week lesser than the current world cup. I do not think how can the period will be further shortened if all the 16 teams are to be accommodated. Even in this World Cup only the teams entered into Super 8 have played each other, whereas the teams which got eliminated in the group stage, i.e. India and Pakistan have not played all other teams in the super 8. If these teams had an opportunity who knows what would have been the course of the tournament. I strongly feel that opportunities should be given to all top 8 teams in the world of cricket to play each other to decide the ultimate champions.

I would like to see something very similar to the B&H 1992 world cup that was held in Australia/NZL. 9/10 top sides playing each other in a round-robin format. It certainly does give us all a worth of our time and money. what makes the WC boring is the "mini-world cup" which is absolutely meaningless and unnecessary in this day and age.

Long maybe, boring! definitely not. To shorten the period & probably even play more games whereby each & every team would have met at least once, let there be simultaneous matches at 2 or 3 venues. Do not reduce the participating teams. They in fact brought more fun to the games.

the super 8,s should have been a straitforward knockout competition , played similar to the football world cup, where the winner of a group would play a team that came 2nd in another group

I think it was far too long and my interest waned Knowing my team ( England ) were crap and also after Bob Woolmers death. I bet the West Indies lost money on it with Pakistan and India falling away early.
