Just keep his bowl out of the stream of cool air from the air conditioner and he should be fine. Bettas are ok down to about 70F or so and your house will probably not get cooler than that.

I'd gett a larger bowl and then get a heater. I stable 78-80 degrees is ideal. u need at leats 3 gallons to maintain a stable heat.. five is better. If you get really frisky, set him up a five gallon tank with a filter and a heater... just make sure you read up about the nitrogen cycle before you move him into his new home. In the long run, maintaing a tank is just as easy if not easier than a bowl. because you just do partial water changes ever week or two.

I got a betta once and the woman at the pet store said if I had air conditioners on in my house, just get a light to put over the bowl/tank. so, get a light for it.

I live in Florida - hot all year long - my Beta lives indoors WITH the air conditioner going full blast. He's fine.

Just don't switch from a warm house to a cold house overnight. Let him adjust gradually.

I would suggest getting a proper tank with a heater if your betta is important. It will die in the cold.

i dont believe they make a heater for that small of a tank.... you would have to get at least a 10 gallon tank.... you could always put warmer water into his tank when you do water changes.... just check the temps with a thermometter

They make heaters for aquariums that size use one of those because Betta's are tropical fish they need to live in water at least 72 degrees. Try to use the lowest wattage you can find.

betta are ok in little bowls, they are pretty hearty, place them away from the direct force of air. the cool air in the room is ok though. dont put them in a window sill it will be to hot.
