Hiya!
Here is a simple way to remove most impressions (dents). Take a towel, wet it and ring the water from it. Lay the wet towel over the depresssion and place a hot iron on it for several seconds. This process will create steam. Steam helps the carpet fibers relax and return to their original shape. Don't leave the iron on it too long or it will melt the carpet. You can repeat this process several times if necessary, always using the wet towel (after several times the towel begins to dry).
Hope this helps ; )

Ditto on the icecubes -- place icecubes throughout dented carpet spots and enable them to soften. whilst they have melted blot up extra water with a fabric/dishtowel and fluff your carpet fibers along with your arms. For dents that are fairly persistent you may could repeat the technique to get all the carpet fluffed back. do no longer soak your carpet with water nevertheless to "speedup" the technique -- which may well be undesirable for the carpet and carpet pad in case you pass away an excellent style of extra effective water on them.

Carpet pros suggest you fill a spray bottle with water and spritz it over the dents. Then use a blow-dryer, on the hottest setting, to blow air over any moistened areas. (The heat helps wool and nylon carpet rebound.) Fluff up fibers with your fingers.
My personal favorite is to put an ice cube in each indentation, and let cubes slowly melt. Wait 12 hours, blot up wet spots, then use the edge of a spoon to lift carpet fibers back up. Or steam away dents: Place a clean, damp cloth over them and hold an iron, on medium heat, several inches above the cloth for about 30 to 60 seconds. Don't let the iron touch the carpet -- it could burn! Brush up fibers with a coin.

Lay ice cubes in the indentations caused by furniture. Be sure to cover all of the indented area. Leave overnight and then fluff the nap with the tines of a fork the next day.

ice cubes are the most effective, place one in the dent and it re-hydrates the fibres of the carpet and they resume their original shape

wet a wash/dish rag, place it over the dent, apply a hot iron on it for approx. 1-2 minutes, remove rag, brush over the dent (be careful! it's hot). voila! dent's gone.
