Hi if this is your first time tanning on a sunbed, you will have a long wait, as you wont see the result or a tan until after a couple of sessions. But im not sure if your planning on going to a salon if you are they have the 3min ones that are suppose to give a good tan. I have one of my own and its crap, even with using all the expensive lotions I get no results and I have done like 3 sessions.
Sessions are when you do it for so many minutes a day and then leave it for another month and then do it again., but I get no result.
So if all depend on what sunbed you use, what skin type you are, and if you use a lotion.

Hi Becky,
The time it takes to build your tan depends on your skin tone. If you're fair complected it takes longer and I don't recommend every other day because you'll burn before your base comes up.
There are beds in most tanning salons called Super Beds, they worked much better for me (fair complected) and I didn't burn as easily.
Here's the kicker- Last Summer I spent 3 months tanning on a regular basis (in beds). I am fair complected and had convinced myself that indoor tanning was better/safer than outdoor. This is not true. There are signs (which i ignored) IN the salon that state this as fact. 3 months ago I had to have a dark pre-cancerous spot on my face burned off... which left a spot of lighter color in it's place. I have another one brewing, and didn't have either one until after I tanned last Summer.
I always feel better with a tan... I live in AZ and it seems unlawful to not have a tan in the Summer in the Southwest. But... I have decided to face the facts. (No pun intended) You can also try spray tanning (I did this 3 weeks ago) there is a learning curve to it, so the first time is not perfect... but once you get it down, it looks great. But it only lasts a week or so.
Good Luck!

Are You Out Of Your Mind? I won't even start to give my opinion. This is a direct quote from the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, "women who use a tanning bed at least once a month increase their chance of getting skin cancer by 55%. I own a Airbrush Tanning Spa in NJ called Jacqueline Pasquale Spa. Some of my clients are under 20 years old! Why? Because they were going to tanning beds 1, 2 and 3 times a week! By the way they ALL had skin cancer!!!!!!!!!

Oh about a week depending on how well you tan. If you are very pale and fair you might burn and it might take a little longer.

Don't do it I don't want to sound like a miserable cow but you are increasing your chance of getting skin cancer. stick to fake tan if you can't do it yourself get a professional to do it for you.
