I'm a smoker and know the risk. It is my choice to smoke. NC is known for growing tobacco. I think the law makers are stepping over the line of our freedoms.

Do you mean totally stop you from smoking? Or stop you from forcing your filth on others? Here in NJ, just about every public place is now smoke-free, and it is a pleasure to be able to breathe in a restaurant and to walk through a mall not having to look out for smokers so i don't get burned by their cigarettes. The way I see it, for years we non-smokers have had your filth forced on us, now just suck up the clean air.

DW - Do you think I should enjoy your second hand smoke? Like I said, you forced your filth on the rest of us for years. But I know, life is so hard for you, isn't it? The same day-to-day pressures that I face with no crutch will make you collapse without your crutch, right? (And I do not drik coffee, alcohol, or do drugs either, so don't go there. Believe it or not, some of us can cope with life.)

Lawmakers think they know what's best for you. They also don't believe in compromise.
Daisy- Suck up the clean air in the mall? In New Jersey?
Are you kidding?
Daisy? Did I get the name wrong? Ok. Storm Cat. What ever are you talking about? I thought the subject was about the laws on smoking not about coping with life or attacking people that you don't know. Calm yourself.

Perhaps they see the bizillion dollars it costs in medical care in cases related to smoking...and the very much preventable maladies thus incurred . (A lot of places, including my own province of Québec prohibit smoking in bars and other public buildings including shopping malls and government places and nobody has started a war over this. Maybe it's nice to breathe easier ).

to keep our freedom, there has to be some risk. unfortunately the law makers don't really believe in freedom. they believe a few know what is best for the majority. and are willing to enslave the masses to prove it.
