back your answer w/ statistics and fact and point out their arguments are purely emotional? I think it's great when people have strong feelings on a subject and are willing to fight for their beliefs--but why deny the EVIDENCE given to you?

I'm assuming you might mean the more "radical' left wing mind set...There are some liberal minded folks out there that can be quite reasonable...but, they are few & far between. Most of your 'filibustering" comes from the far,far left; and there is no reasoning with them...they have a strong, secular anti- Conservative agenda & want to completely change the landscape of America as we know it & put in place a more permissive,progressive & anti-religious socialist state.They fly under the banner of human & civil rights, economic freedom for all people, health care for all, amnesty for all illegals, the redistribution of wealth so poverty is wiped out.... but the reality of their proposal is actually Communism in it's "loosest" form, if you will.... If they were to actually reveal the true intent of their beliefs, most Americans would be aghast at the reality of it & certainly not vote for any candidate that espoused such a platform.....so they have to lie to disguise the awful truth! Additionally, it is much easier to avoid answering a direct question by launching, vicious, emotional, personal attacks on individuals, rather than engaging in a sane, fact-based debate on current issues....the Libs do this quite well actually.

If one is debating with someone who gets their "facts" from Fox "News",Ann Coulter,Rush Limbaugh,et al,it can become very frustrating.
