I am thinking of buying a rabbit from petfinders.com and the rabbit I would like to get it says on the page This pet has been altered.
what does that mean?

It has been altered sexually. Fixed so it cannot have or produce young. If it's a doe it can still have sex, but nothing will happen. If it's a buck, he can, but loses his desire. Plus bucks can get very mean and may bite.
This is a similar procedure to having a dog or cat spayed or neutered.

If you get a buck, and he turns mean, let me know, I have some very good recipes for rabbit. Really! No Joke!

It means the rabbit has been spayed or neutered and cannot mate or have babies.

it means the rabbit has been fixed to prevent it from reproducing
sexually-like neutering and castration in dogs and cats

They mean neutered, as in spayed or castrated. Pretty old fashioned term for it!

he/she has been spayed or neutered. there's nothing wrong or anything. it just can't be bred.
