How can creationists ignore all the evidence about evolution?

It's usually because they are brainwashed as children and taught NOT to think critically. Almost every religionist is of the same religion as their parents. Only rarely are they able to think clearly enough to even consider whether another religion might be more to their liking, much less no religion.

My hypothesis is the biological cause of this is babies are totally dependent on parents for guidance in everything in their lives. Prehistorically, learning what food is safe to eat and what is poison; learning to avoid predators, etc. This early teaching is very difficult to break away from and maybe learn something different.

Another part of this may be neotany (retention of infantile attributes into adulthood) which some biologist are convinced effects humans. This happens in some species and there is some evidence that it has happened in humans. For instance, baby human and baby chimpanzee skulls look very much alike. Adult skulls do not. Human skulls retain babylike proportions and "cuteness" compared to adult chimpanzee skulls. Therefore, childrens imaginary playmates may be carried over into imaginary gods and devils and angels and assorted other spirits.

Evolution is an answer that raises its own question. It does nicely to explain how humans ended, but in the end it must resort to things like panspermia and spontaneaous generation to explain how life started. All evidence for evolution occurs in species - anything outside is theories and speculation.

maybe they just choose to avoid learning anything about it. the more i learn about this the more I see that they just haven't researched our knowledge fully. I was talking to some one once who fully believed in creationism but had never heard of Lucy, the earliest human ancestor ever found. I think they are truthfully just scared of the possibility of creationism not being correct.

Cause they're stubborn and always think they'll right. Some of them also believe that if they believe in evolution they're go to hell.
