I think you mean "Working in a Coal Mine".
but "Sixteen Tons" does start very slow and gets slightly faster. I think you would recognize Sixteen Tons
So many West Virginia Bluegrass songs are about coal mining.

I'm guessing "Sixteen Tons," originally sung by Merle Travis. It's been covered by many others - like Tennessee Ford, Johnny Desmond, Frankie Laine, the Eels, Harvey and the Wallbangers, Johnny Cash, and even presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich.
