The equation for the circumference of a circle, or the total distance around a circle, is pie times circumference. so all you need to do is multiply 27 inches times pie (or 3.14). for more information about circles and equations here is a site.

The perimeter or circumference of a circle is given by the formula Pi*d ,where pi=3.14 and d is the diameter of the circle
Hence circumference=3.14*27
=84.78 inches

The formula for the circumerence (C) of a circle if you know the diameter (d) is:

C = pi * d

C = pi * 27

Therefore

C = 84.82 inches
