I have used it successfully to treat some other plecos, but I don't recall ever having treated a clown pleco with Quick Cure. It shouldn't be a problem at 1/2 dose. I would suggest you try it at 1/2 dose for several days and be ready to try a slightly over 1/2 dose it if doesn't seem to be getting the job done. I would also suggest increasing the tank temperature to over 85F to help disrupt the ich life cycle. 88-90F would be best.

What is wrong with your clown pleco? What is the symptoms of the fish? If you are going to use quick cure just use half strength
which would be 1 drop per 2 gallons of water if you are going to use the quick cure by aquarium product its the liquid type. Different directions for different medicine make sure you read the instructions. I have used quick cure myself and it is a great product. Just watch your clown pleco closely. If any signs of stress or strange behavior change 50% of the water right away. Good luck! I hope this helps your sick fish.

I used it in a mixed tank of angels, tetras and plecos, including a clown. Used the dosage for tetras (which is reduced) and it did clear it up, I just had to treat a little longer. I also took a day break after treating for 3 days, at the recommendation of my LFS guy, and reinserted the carbon for 24 hours, then removed the carbon and resumed the treatment for 3 more days. Seemed to do the job, just lost a couple of danios/tetras in the beginning. No loss of the more expensive plecos or angels and completely cured.

Because this medication has malachite green, which is a problem for scaless fish such as a pleco, I'd use a half dose, if at all. I would consider a copper sulfate based product like Aquari-Sol first.
Ich and catfish is a tough deal. Raising the temperature is always a good idea and catfish can only tolerate a small amount of salt as well.
