If no one gets a majority the president would be elected by the House of Representatives - not by a majority, but by one vote per state, decided by a majority of the reps from that state - if a tie, no vote for that state.

If no candidate receives the 270 electoral votes out of 538, then the election goes to the House of Representatives where a winner is voted on. Seeing that the House is right now a democratic majority, it is most likely they will vote for a democrat.

Assuming you mean majority of votes in the Electoral College.

The House of Representatives votes for the President in that case, they pick among the top three Electoral College winners. Each state gets one vote, and if the the Representatives for that state tie, it is considered to abstain.

The Senate has a similar process for choosing the Vice President when there is no majority Electoral College vote for that position.

If no presidential candidate receives more than half of the electoral votes, the election goes to the House of Representatives, where each state has one vote, and the winner has to win a majority of states (currently that is 26 states).

If no VP is elected by the electoral college, the vote goes to the Senate where each Senator has one vote (since each state is represented equally in the Senate anyway).

U.S. Elections are based on plurality, not majority.

Majority is more than 50% of the vote.

Plurality is more votes than any other candidate.
