I think that the biggest reason it didn't take over the U.S. is because of our diversity. Fascism is largely based on the concept of one people being superior to all other peoples. In Germany, Fascism known as Nazism, was based on the principal that the German people were the "master race". In Japan the Japanese felt that they were superior to all other races. Their mission was to free Asia from Europeans and they were to be the masters of Asia. Japan was the land of the gods. Fascism was able to gain a foothold in these countries because it was easy for the people to believe thast they were the best. In the U.S. we are made up many peoples. Also we resent authority and that makes it harder for us to follow a leader. I hope this has been a help to you.

Facism is toltalitarianism - a police state.

the point is it didnt develop in the U.S because fasicism appeals to mostly poorer countries that are weak so that a demagoge can come and set up a totalitarian government
