Yes it is acceptable for you to touch a loved one who has an open casket. You can touch their hand, shoulder, face, hair, a kiss on the forehead, whatever you feel comfortable with. Just be prepared that they will be cold, have on a lot of makeup, and hairspray. Ultimately it is whatever you feel comfortable with. If you were not able to be there to give a hug or kiss before they passed, sometimes it is the only chance you have to say goodbye.

It's perfectly ok. Any open casket funeral I've ever been to someone (Sometimes me) has touched the deceased. It's usually their hand. Be prepared that they'll be very cold.

No, I have done it many times, especially when my son died. My grief was so overwhelming, I felt I just needed to hold on longer. It is not gross, if they felt like I did, they were kiss a memory and a dream goodbye. "Never could have made it. Heavenly Father, I never could have made it without you, I would have lost it all, but now I see, how you were there for me, and I can say, I'm stronger, I'm wiser and I am better." my bd was the 7th of Jan, my spouses is the 28th of Jan so happy birthday and God bless you.

It is OK to touch the dec'd unless you notice that there is cosmetics on the hands or face. You wouldn't want to mess them up, or get them on you.
Also it is not wise to touch if it is someone who has a traumatic death, shot in the face, car accidents, as there may be wax and you wouldn't want to disturb that.
But if it someone who has died, natural no unusual circumstances then go for it.

Touching the deceased is acceptable but depends on which religious beliefs you adhere to. It is taboo in some religions. Don't do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. The human body is cold and rigid when deceased.

I have in the past. Depends on how well I knew the person and how close we were. I have touched a fellow biker at his funeral in the past. There isn't anything wrong with it.

Normally you lean over the body and make the sign of the cross over it [they'll be a sort of a percession], but if its a loved one then its okay to kiss the person on the forehead, it all depends on the religion and how well you knew them.

I've seen it done all the time. I think it's acceptable to do so. I personally hv never been able to touch a deceased person, even my parents.

If I was especially close to the deceased, I usually touch the hand. It's creepy, though.
