Right downtown Vancouver (in the west end or other decent areas) you will pay $900 on up for a studio apt or tiny one bedroom. Downtown Eastside is NOT recommended ... unless you really crave the learning experience of living among the down and out. However, Vancouver east of Nanaimo Street is a decent area and you can find studio and one bedroom apts for $500-800, some with utilities included. It's about a 5-10 minute bus ride from the downtown core area. Vancouver south of first street isn't too bad, either, in most areas.

Hubby and I currently rent a large one bedroom apt. for $500 a month all inclusive near the PNE (Pacific Northwest Exhibition grounds). We are moving out in a month, but don't know if landlord is renting it out again ....

Its going to be expensive wherever you want to live in Vancouver. The cheapest I believe is East Vancouver. But east Vancouver also has a reputation for beingng the worst part of town, the area where the druggies, hookers and other sorts live. Of course there are the nice people there too.

Good areas are: Mount Pleasant, Marpole, East Vancouver (not near Main & Hastings area).
Burnaby has some good places. Near Metrotown shopping mall area. That's about 20-30min E. of downtown Vancouver.
New Westminster is another good area, it's just E. of Burnaby.
Richmond is another good spot too.

Maybe u can live in richmond. They hv lots of things there, well if u live in a house it will be very expensive but if u rent a appartment it shouldn't be that expensive. Like my friend she rents a appartement 4 $1300 a month n do not need to pay the hot water fee and the heat fee

Pretty nice
