I have a 01 Suzuki Intruder 1500 and my low beams are not working, I changed the lamp bulb, and still no low beams. I dont have an owners manual, Could it be a fuse? and if so where is the fuse box located.

The same fuse is used for both the high and low beams.
--Either the low beam terminal in the headlight socket isnt making a connection to the bulb, or the socket is dis-connected for the low beam.
--With a test light - remove the bulb from the sococket and check for power at the terminal.
--Check for power at the connector of the headlight socket for the low beam.
--The handle bar switch may be damaged. Check for power at the handle bar connector wire for the low beam. That will tell you if the switch is bad.

I have 2005 C90, formerly a VL 1500 Intruder. My fuse box is behind the right side engine cover. Look behind the oil fill hole. If the fuse is good and the high beam works I would check the switch.

It could be the socket, the low beam wire or the low/high beam switch. If it was the fuse, the high beams would be out too. You need to poke around with a voltmeter or 12V probe from the switch to the socket to see where the 12v quits.

Amanda, this would be normal if your car isn't burning all the fuel properly , so as when you down shift the back presser allows the unburned fuel to get into the exhaust and the heat sets it off as an explosion...The timing could have something to do with this type problem
