No Leroy, never, I will take the blame for you. I don't want to see you get in trouble. I say I ate the cookie!

you won't go to jail. But you must make amens for the criminal act. Now it is only fair that you go to the store before you go to work next and buy some cookies to replace the one you ate. It doesn't have to be a large amount, but buy something you don't like. This way you won't be tempted to eat them before putting them in the break room. Also, if the people you work with see you bringing the cookies into the break room, and putting them down as an offering for all to eat, they won't even notice that the cookie you ate is gone. The enticement of sugar will blind their minds for a moment. And when they come back to their senses, they will think 'sure he took a cookie, but he brought ALL these cookies to us! so he is good.' And if you have a dollar tree store around or one of those where everything is 99 cents or a dollar, you don't have to spend a whole lot to be a honorable person again!!!
You already are pretty honorable because you admitted it was you that took the cookie; even if you only admitted it here to us.

No, thus the word swiped actually means: To seize the possession of another, thus that meaning does not necessarily mean steal, pilfer, or filch... even though those words are synonyms of swiped, but fear not, it's highly unlikely that such strict judgment will be considered for your action, I just hope the cookie was worth it;) LOL
