I think all the QBs taken this year will pretty much be busts. Russell is a good player but with the Raiders dealing Randy Moss to the Pats, that was the only decent reciever the Raiders had. It dont matter how far Russell can throw it from his knees, with no real go-to reciever, no clear cut #1 RB and a poor line, Russells career with the Raiders will not be a very good one. And Brady Quinn, theres a reason he slipped to #22. Not being in a conference hurts Notre Dame and their prospects and Quinn was only decent against good compitition. This QB class will be nowhere close in the end to Young, Leinart, and Cutler from the '06 draft.

Russell plays one good game....to the guy saying Troy Smith and Leak are the 2 best QB's in the draft?? Come on....Leak didn't even take every snap for his college team.

Notre Dame not being in a Conference did not hurt Quinn. ND's defense hurt Quinn. The fact that he has never won a big game?? What about USC in 05, How did he lose that one. All he did was drive his team down the field with close to 1 min to go. Then the defense gives up a deep ball and allows Reggie Bush to push Lienart in the endzone.

Another side note on the Russell/Quinn debate. How many of Quinn's recievers were drafted in the 1st round? How many ND defensive players drated in the first round? Russell is a product of a good college team. He plays 1 good game with first round recivers running free against ND poor defense. Anyone take into account the LSU/Auburn game. What happened to Russell there? Good defense, horrible QB play. The Browns made out big time in this one...and leave it to Oakland to draft horrible again!

each and anybody who would not say Ryan Leaf is because he has a nasty reminiscence or under no circumstances watched Leaf play. Leaf basically had 4 wins as a starter in a 5 12 months occupation and he performed in additional advantageous positive Chargers communities. Russell has 7 wins, in simple terms about two times and has had a shorter occupation than Leaf had. EDIT: higher expectancies is precisely the rationalization Leaf is a higher bust. Russell grow to be taken 1st usual because 2007 grow to be a very weak QB classification (so some distance Kevin Kolb has been the perfect), even as 1998 grow to be a very sturdy one. back in 1998, Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf appeared like Gerald McCoy and Ndamukong Suh, it appeared like you would possibly want to no longer flow incorrect with any of them.

it was a good #1 pick, the raiders needed a QB and they got the best QB from last year. He is a good all around player with a great arm , good speed, and great poise.

I TOTALLY AGREE, Jamarcus is VERY overrated, he has a good arm, thats it. The raiders needed a QB so he was a good #1 pick in that sence, but truthfully i didn't like any of the QB's in the draft this year besides troy smith and leak, who havn't even been picked yet.

Yeah I agree with you. I just have that funny feeling that he will not be as good as advertised. If anything the Raiders should have taken Brady Quinn. They took the wrong quarterback.

He is defenitly NOT going to be a bust. He's amazing and is sort of like a Peyton Manning type QB, he can also scramble to. I think he will turn Oakland around.

i dont think so...i think that he is a great player who is really dedicated to the game. I think that he's gonna help the Raiders a lot b/c from last years stats they really needed help. GO JaMarcus!!!
