No one ever promised me, but they do anyway.
My great-grandfather communicates with me whenever I need guidance of any sort, but he never promised to do so while he was still living (to the best of my knowledge; I never met him since he died before I was born).

I have also briefly communicated or felt the presence of several other people who died, like my grandfather, a friend of mine, and a teacher that I had once.

My Mother (God rest her) was a cook and restaurantuer. and This sounds crazy but sometimes when I am cooking i can feel my mom is with me, telling me what to do "put some salt in them beans"

When a very good friend of mine died in a car wreck, she came to me in a dream, she gave me a hug and said everything was alright.

When my Cat died (had a strong connection to her) a week later I saw her in a dream and I remember my parents saying "she came back." and there was something strange about her eyes, i don't remember. But I really believe it was her, because I only had the dream once, I think she was saying goodbye that one last time.

Yes they have, and I have spoken to them, mostly in my dreams, but the "whats it like over there" topic never comes up. Most of the time they are trying to reassure me that they are fine

My uncle Clarence promissed to communicate with me and give me some good stock advice. So far Clarence is spending his time with the worms and no advice... but when Elvis appears again I'm sure Clarence will be with him.
