Well I do have the answer. I AM a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. WE go to military funerals and stand between these protesters and the family members. WE do NOT allow them to get near the family. We only go with the family's knowledge and consent. If you interested drop me a line and I'll provide with the website address for the PGR. I salute ALL our military. May God bless each and every one of them. Oh Yes I agree with you.

Absolutely ridiculous is what I think of that group.
In fact, these people that 'preach' this stuff.. need to be taught what RESPECT means. They should absolutely not be doing anything like that..
I think it is fine if people want to protest war, etc.. I mean, it's a free country.. BUT it should be done in the right places.. Protest in front of a recruiting office or at a gov't officials office, etc.. or in a parade.. or a rally at a park.. NOT at someones funeral.. That's not even just disrespectful.. it's disgusting!
How on earth they connect homosexuality and war.. I don't know.. That doesn't make any sense at all.. And to me just shows a group that really doesn't even understand what it is that they are protesting.. More than likely.. it's a group of people that are almost 'brainwashed' in a way to believe that the two are even connected..
I very much hope the group does not show up at the funeral.. I can tell you that if they were to show up at the funeral of someone I knew.. I would have a few words to say to them..

that really is awful I'm sorry but i haven't got a answer to your ????? but I've never heard of this. The people that have the balls to say that crap about our soldiers really are the fags. Because here they are preaching on crap they obviously have no idea on the issue, its not about homosexuality in the military its about the fact that bush will not pull our soldiers out of this nonsense. The people that sit back on the side lines with there thumb up there asses protesting that our military forces are full fags. I don't see any of them enlisting and being men to defend our country. They follow poor defenseless morning families around and call there brave, balls of steal ,family members that not only died defending our country, our families, but these protesters also.So if they really took a look at the big picture they would realize that they were the fags hiding behind there hateful words probably living at there parents house with no job, car, or girlfriend, so really who looks like the fag now this is ludicrous lol!!!!!!!These poeple are afaid and when poeple are scared they surround themselves around poeple that are weak and powerless ,like the greaving.I wonder if the graveyards grounds keeper was addresed about this problem or even the criminal division of the courthouse or even the police .If somehow someone with some type of athority was contacted before the funarel services that these idiots could be stoped before they hurt more poeple that are already hurting. Its like kicking someone when there already down, that is pathetic!!!!!!

This group is using alienating tactics to promote their political agendas by intruding on the private grief of individuals. While the service man died in a war many do not agree with, their insensitivity to the family in my opinion is grotesque!
As the service is happening today, anything done will have to be done on the spot. Go up to them and ask them to respect the private grief of the family and leave. It's a one in a million chance they'll listen. And if they don't, write an open ed or letter to a local or community newspaper.
If this group realizes how alienating or in effective their tactics are they might eventually rethink their actions. That being said, extremists rarely see any other opinion but their own.
My sympathies.

I just think there is a place and a time to protest. A man died defending our country and your going to stomp around protesting a war? In the big picture, do we really have much say in this war? Why don't you go protest outside of a government building. Where people who actually make decisions can be impacted. You asked such a great question!
I live right next to Fort Carson and I see the protestors out there with the same signs. "Stop Supporting the War!" Get out of the Military!.. WTF, these guys have signed contracts, they can't just walk up to their commanding officers and go, "Hey listen, I'm not coming back anymore thanks!"

I've never heard of this group. Do you know its name? I do not support the Iraq war, but our soldiers don't deserve that kind of treatment. Its not there fault we have a mental midget in the White House.
As a solution to the protesters I would bring along some water balloons filled with bleach or other nasty things that smell bad. That would show them that they are crossing a line and need to back off.

Well what about the motorcycle gang that is coming to military funerals who are trying to stop those protesters. They are trying to show support for the family by keeping these hagglers away from the funerals.

You must mean Fred Phelps and his "Baptist" church. This guy deserves to have a piano fall on him from a skyscraper. They are absolutely the lowest of the low.
They wield some political power believe it or not, they even brought down the mayor of the city where they live by somehow getting hold of private emails she had sent.
I try to promise myself that I won't go and beat the crud out of them if I see them, but it's a tough call.
They are absolutely and utterly worthless.

they are hypocrites and if they do not like others views impressed on them then they should not impress their views on you or any one else. And futhermore they should have prayed for the lost loved one THAT DIED SO THEY COULD PROTEST! And respect the family as they want to be respected....i'm sure they do not people at their funeral protesting.
