if it is possible, is it very expensive and time consuming?

Yes it is very possible. I usually charge anywhere from $2500. to $5000 per system. That depends on if you have any of the ducts . If you wanted to do it yourself you cant unless you have an HVAC license. no its not time consuming. Most of the time it takes me a day or two.

You didn't say what type system you currently have. Installing new duct work for the system would be the most time consuming. It would also include repairs to walls/ceilings that needed to be cut to install them. Size of your house would determine what size unit you need. Price would rely on the installer. Get many bids.

Yes it is possible and it is expensive and time consuming, my brother did all that a few years ago in their house, He did everything himself and its not a very big house only a 2 bedroom...the cost to them was around $5000.00 dollars.

as long as you have a basement. it would be better if you live in a ranch too but you could get heat runs up to the second floor through closets. you could also put in an attic unit in addition to the basement unit, but then you re running into much more money but that would be optimum for a 2 story
