Not all minors are criminals. Don't you think the police need to stop being lazy and tackle down the problem, not target one specific age group?

Most teans think that nothing can happen to them. They need guidance with from their parents and the community to help them mature. Curfews are ont of these guidance situations.

The answers about parents setting curfews ignore the the irresponsible parent who doesn't or can't control their child.

It's true that not all minors are criminals but those that are make it tough for the ones that aren't. I've seen a lot these days and it's best for those curfews. Without them, the peer pressure can be a bit much for the good teens and they might slip into the wrong crowd. My own step son was a victim of this. He and about 5 of his friends dared each other to rob a house but the female owner was at home and he threatened her with a bat. The funny thing is, he was the only one that was caught and sent to jail for 3 years. If there had been a curfew, this may not have taken place.

In Las Vegas a curfew is in place and is strictly enforced. Children under 18 may not be out past 10 pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends unless accompanied by an adult.

yes i do - here in the UK we have regular instances of criminal damage-intimidation and threats to the person commited mainly by youngsters under the age of 16. (a well broadcasted video shows kids as young as ten years of age smashing a car to pieces and then torching it). i do not think a curfew on minors unaccompanied by an adult is unacceptable-9pm being a good time.

I think the curfew on minors issue is less about believing that they are criminals than it is about believing that they are vulnerable and should be protected.

How do you think the police are being lazy and what exactly is the problem?

I agree on cerfews on minors, however they need to be enforced by the parents and not the police, the police should be more worried about real crime, drugs, gangs, etc.

I agree with curfews on minors.

If the police didn't impose one on my kids, I would.

If you are under age, you should not be out after 8 on a school night or 11 on a weekend. Violators should be boiled in oil.

A curfew is something a family should set, not the police and not the town you live in.
