zip file is the compressed file....why you need to zip again..........
1. if you want to zip a file, use winzip or winrar for compress
2. you have to install winzip or winrar in your system
3. if you are using windows XP use compressing file option..

a zip file is compressed already. to uncompress windows can do this by right clicking.

Alternatively there are other programs such as extractnow, izarc and 7-zip which are free and allow compression and extraction of archives

If you zipped a file using winzip, then you can use winrar to compress along with winzip to compress more.

zip file is already compressed
you can open it without winzip in windows xp
to create a .zip file you need to install "winzip" software
