Yes get it to put your mollie fry in it. If he has the bottom filter system to it that is good. Take water from the tank the fry are in. Set up heater in it over not so the temp will level out .Goto walmart and get the heater for a2-5 gallon tank. This will keep water temp good. Put fry in plastic bag like you get them from the pet shop. Introduce them like they were new fish going into a new tank. Let the water in the bag they are in get the same temp as the tank. Then put them in it.
I raise mollies, guppies, platies, swords all together. Mollies and guppies go good together. I keep my tank water between 76-78. In the past week i have had over 300 fry born from my guppies and my mollies. They like it. Remember the rule of thumb. 1 male to 2 females. This will keep the males from picking on just one female.
Good luck
Goto my web site and see pic of my tanks and info on how to take care of frys located under my blog

You need to put them into a fish bowl or a little tank with a pump and air stones so that you oxygenate the water you also need to keep the water at 24C that's if they are cold water I'm not to sure about tropical fish. You don't need to use gravel etc for the moment until they get a bit older. If his tank is in good condition then it will be ok to use however it isn't recommended because of the bacteria which might be in the tank. You only need to have a small tank.
Foods that safe for fry are:
Baby brine shrimp
Liquid fry food for live bearers
Micro worms
Tropical fish flake food (crushed into fine powder. Mollies can be a good beginner fish. Not only are they pleasant to watch, but are very peaceful and not aggressive towards other community fish.
Hope this helps
Added I think some people have answered your question wrong and they are getting cold water Black Moors mixed up with tropical black mollies.

Yes i've kept mollies and guppies together. But they will eat their own fry
You will need a sponge filter and small sipon
I
the small nesh that hang on the side or the plastic ones that float in the tank put an air stone in them or the fry will sufficate trust me.
I raise jack Dempsey fry they are about nine inch full grown. I've had success keeping
them alive using a tank with no rocks on the bottom and a large sponge filter. That has no holes to suck fry up, the fish guy said that the fry should be able to eat off the filter for it to be safe and that the fry produce lots of waste in their food and excreationg I also feed them miniscul bits of hard boiled egg. untill they are large enought to eat crushed up flakes, I also clean the parents tank with a siphone and sweep the bottom of the frys tank with the siphon into a bucket so if any fry get sucked up they go right back into the tank I have only been succesful tank replacing the fry tanks water after cleaning with water directly from the parents tank

human beings have their info incorrect... it incredibly is what I had: a 29 gallon for the adults and a nursery aquarium for a mix of platie, molly and guppy fry. With a small aquarium you are able to no longer keep plenty offspring reason the father and mom want that room, yet you do no longer opt to inbreed in any case. The toddlers want a minimum of a 10 gallon. attempt to do a 25% water exchange each 2-3 weeks, or take benefit in case you haven't any longer have been given extra contemporary fry interior the aquarium as they might pass into ask your self. whilst the older fry are a million/2" approximately they gotta pass so that they do no longer hassle newborn fry. in case you got a 20 gallon, it incredibly is ultimate to start with a million male, 2 women. you are able to keep one or 2 offspring, yet each 2-3 months upload a clean guppy from a diverse DNA inventory. That retains deformed fry at a low %. a 10 gallon is basically too small to reproduce guppies. A 20 is the least. approximately 3:men, 9:women can slot in 20 gallons on the max.

For the fry, I would recommend that you keep them in a breeder tank. And yes, a molly can be kept with a guppy.

I think it would be better to get a separate tank for the fry.
Many fish will eat their fry.
And yes, Guppies can be kept with Mollies.
Good Luck

i always used a breeder net like you already have, but it drove the adult fish mad trying to get in it so a seperate tank is a good idea. i used to keep dalmation mollies with my snakeskin guppies so i am guessing that you would be ok ut not 100% sure
