I live in Brooklyn and I have to do a project for school and I came across pictures of my neighborhood as far back as 1910. I was just wondering how come there are no longer any street trolleys here.

Like everywhere else, the trolley had had its day and was replaced by the bus for public transportation. The trolleys were a blight on the landscape of any town or city with their wires hanging down every street. The tracks were dug up or covered over once the trolley was replaced. There is a trolley museum in Kennebunkport, Maine, if you are ever in that area and are interested in trolleys.

It would probably be best for you to ask your citie's transportation department about this.
I live in a town which once had trolley cars also; now all of the rails have either been pulled up or black topped over.
I believe, in it's time, it was the best transportation available until the car was invented. Then slowly, the car took over.
