If everything so far hasn't swayed Bush, the opinion of a respected military leader won't matter. His stubbornness will not allow him to accept the will of the American people, and so the civil war will go on, more Americans will die, more Iraqis will die, nothing at all will be solved.

Sad. I'm starting to think there will be no end in sight until after the US presidential election next year.

There comes a time when any competent military leader has to accept the fact this his Commander-In-Chief is a certifiable lunatic.
Many German generals plotted to assassinate Hitler without success.
More and more American military professionals now know that George W. Bush is a spoiled rich kid without any moral compass, ethics, conscience or integrity. He will continue his evil ways all because Saddam Hussein humiliated his daddy during Desert Storm and because Dick Cheney wants all that OIL swimming under Iraq's sands.
Bush is an incompetent, and will go down in history as the worst U.S. President (to date). Shortly after he leaves office, this country will be in the throes of the worst economic depression in its history (much worse than the "Great Depression" of 1929).
Bush has left American taxpayers TRILLIONS of dollars in debt, a debt that may never be paid off. And, his family's 'cozy' relationship with China means that our biggest creditor will - at any time - be able to revoke America's credit card and become the world's next super power.
The Bush family dynasty will affect the U.S.A. for generations to come economically, sociopolitically, and environmentally. Our grandchildren and great-grandchildren will suffer the effects of George W. Bush's
reckless policies and stubborn inadequacies. Within a generation, we will no longer be the world's superpower, nor will we be a global peacekeeper. We are viewed as a warrior country, willing to invade to protect our own interests instead of sharing the wealth with the rest of the world. The U.S. makes up only 5% of the world's population, yet squanders over 55% of its resources. We are a wasteful, disposable society. Future generations - OUR DESCENDANTS - will sit back and KNOW that we KNEW how we squandered everything, and will ask, "WHY??" How will we ever answer our own grandchildren and great-grandchildren? How will we ever face them in a new world or another dimension? -RKO- 04/29/07

All presidents put troops in harms way, but most have best interest of country, and not to fill some very deep pockets.
