Is the political parties just a part of congress? If yes.. what part? Are the political parties a part of the legislature branch of the government?

Either the Executive branch, or the Legislative branch.

Let's see: there's the judicial, legislative, and executive branches of our government. I think "political parties" are part of each branch. However, it would be splendid if all members of the Republican and Democratic parties were ostracized from all three branches of government. Maybe if we had fresh political insight running the government, the incompetency, arrogance, greed, evil, corruption, hubris, graft, illegalities, and stupidity would STOP!! It's time to take the 'CON' out of Congress, bring fairness back to judge ships, and elect Presidents who actually have brains and leadership skills. -RKO- 04/29/07

The political parties are in all branches of the government including local and state as well as national. Even when the party affiliations aren't announced there are connections.
