Every 15 seconds, a child is emotionally and/or physically abused by their parents. and as far as I concern, yelling at a child is stupid. As for threatening a child in a worst way, that's pathetic! And in MY opinion, child abusers deserves prision time (death penalty if the abuse end in murder). What do you think?

Emotional abuse is sad but parents are human too. There should be some kind of intervention. Though admittedly I think Alec Baldwin needs some serious anger management.

Physical abuse or serious threat of it is a whole other category. The child should be removed from the abusive parent & if serious the abuser should receive jail time. Murder definitely should have the death penalty or life as many of those kind of abusers are beyond help to live in the real world. Releasing them, just like sex offenders is like letting them loose to hurt others.

I believe everyone deserves a second chance but not if it includes even the slightest risk to the life or well being of another child.

I have a difficult time with sweeping generalizations about things that most folks only have a small understanding.

Yes, yelling at a child is stupid, in the wrong context. Yelling to save their life, not stupid.

Threats are just that...threats.

Child abuse is a crime in every state that I know of. It is rarely prosecuted as such. Instead there is a civil procedure done to get CPS into the lives of the family. And they never help, but rather exacerbate the situation.

If child abuse were treated as a crime, and prosecuted as such, you would see a different attitude about what child abuse actually is, and it isn't a one time verbal lashing.

I don't think there has ever been a parent that hasn't yelled at a kid when they were mad at them. What we heard of Alec is one side, yes I know it was horrible what he said to her but from what I have heard the girl has been used as a pawn against him many times. Quiet honestly I think this should have never been released to the public as it was a private matter. If you are so concerned about children become a child advocate. From your response anyone that has kids can tell you have none. Wait till you have kids and let us know how perfect you are.

I think we need to give parenting classes in school and help people who need it. It costs a lot less to give them counseling than to lock them up in jail. It's also far more effective.

Just curious, do you have children? You'd be surprised at what you can get thrown into jail for... I hope your toddler never kisses another toddler
at pre-school or isn't late to school more than 3 times....

Yelling at a child is a not healthy, but guess what?It happens, and the ones who deny it are lying or doing something else. No one is perfect 100% of the time. I hope you're harshness doesn't come back to haunt you.

definite! definite! definite! i'm chuffed somebody else has extra this up. Verbal ABUSE continues to be ABUSE. For those people who think of it incredibly is a "deepest kinfolk remember," you're kidding yourselves. That thinking is why there are a very good kind of toddlers abused international extensive. My mom became RAPED by using her father from the time she became 8 years previous till she became 14 years previous. She ultimately had the braveness to coach him in to police. you already know what? He became released after some days because of the fact it became a "deepest kinfolk remember." that's BS. the enormous photograph right this is not any longer that the tape became released. the enormous photograph is that he VERBALLY ABUSED HIS 11 year previous DAUGHTER. it could have been a negligent factor to launch the tape, yet HE nonetheless VERBALLY ABUSED HIS 11 year previous DAUGHTER. Why are human beings having one among those complicated time seeing this?

Well, you obviously aren't old enough to have a bratty, spoiled, self-indulgent "almost" teenager with more mouth than brains.

Those of us who have raised them - or are currently raising them recognize a lot of ourselves in Mr. Baldwin's tirade. His only "fault" was doing it by phone, having someone record it and release it to the media....

Until you have actually brought a child through those years - and the teen years - into adulthood, you can't really make judgements.

It is NOT abuse to tell your child that he/she is a selfish little brat that needs to clean up his/her act.....

You sound just like my brother-in-law. He tried to tell me how to raise children. He has two kids, both in jail, I have four, all are productive members of society. Do you know cops spend most of their time cleaning up after people like you. People who raise their children like they are small adults, that is the ones they don't abort.

I see the difference in my grandchildren. Different homes = different styles of parenting = different results.

On second thought you may not be as smart as he is...but you do sound like him.

BTW, the death penalty is available for murder. It is the fault of juries and judges that it is not used.

Let's get real. There isn't a parent out there who has not blown up at their kid. Child abusers do go to jail, for verbally berating a child, then you are an idiot.
