ok about a month ago I realized that spiderman 3 was coming out. So I asked my husband about it and said why don't the three of us go and see it (me, husband and son) on the friday it comes out. However, it actually comes out thursday/friday at midnight. Well, going with the fact that we planned to go see this, is it dumb of me to be a little upset that he is going to see it at midnight and that I wish he would just wait to see it on friday with me and our son. I just got mad because I feel like it kind of ruins the time we PLANNED for just because he likes to see the midnight show. Is it wrong that I wish he would not see it at midnight? He says he could have seen it and not told me at all and that is why he doesn't want to tell me because I am being unreasonable. I guess I just wanted him to ask me...say that I know we planned this but I really want to see the midnight showing too...is that alright. Is it wrong for me to at least expect this respect? I know...maybe stupid..

You stated that he enjoys watching the midnight showings of movies. Why would this be any different? How about just going with him? It's Friday, no school the following day----so go with him!

What is he, 3?
When he has to pee in the mall does he grab his little pecker and pinch it and do the pee-pee dance while you frantically search for a bathroom for him?
No - he is a grown-up - he knows how to WAIT. And hold it. And delay gratification.
You're not crazy - he's a selfish asshole. Tell him you'd rather all of you go together so if he can wait he gets a lingerie and high heels bl*w job from you which he can ask one of his buddies for if he goes without you, because it sure as hell won't be you giving it if he can't learn to wait a while.

He is going back on his word. He said the three of us, but is going either alone or with someone else.
It's not fair and you have a right to be upset, he isn't keeping up his end of the bargain and being very selfish.
Saying that he could have just seen it and not mentioned it...that is also way wrong.
He's acting like a very childish man!!

Why does he feel that he has to go to the midnight show? Is he so immature that he can't wait a few hours and go with you and your son? I don't think you're the one being unreasonable here. It sounds like he's the one who needs to start behaving like a grown-up.

There's no reason why he needs to see it the second it's out I think waiting one day to see it as a family is not unreasonable to ask

no you are not wrong...he's being selfish and inconsiderate. things would be different if plans were made to see another movie. but i understand that this was something you both planned for the whole family to do TOGETHER. the least he could've done-out of respect-is to ask or let you know what he was thinking.

I think I'd be upset if I were you too.
You made plans as a family, and then he wants to go out just a FEW hours sooner to see it?
That is selfish. I don't see what he would gain by seeing it a little sooner.

I honestly think you guys are having a dumb argument. He could have not told you and you want to see it at midnight anyway so what's the problem. Go see it with him at midnight. You don't say how old your son is but if he is old enough to see Spiderman he is old enough to stay out late with his parents one night of the week.

Wow, how old are the two of you? Is this all you have to argue about? I would say you two need to find something a little less childish to argue about. I'm not sure why your husband can't wait until friday to go with you and your son though. Seems as the two of you are both being childish to me though.
