I think there should be an * by his homerun title. Who wants to start a petition and send it to Selig?
I think Hammering Hank deserved the title and Bonds is a cheater that doesn't deserve a pat on the back.

Barry has one heck of a swing. Experts indicate that, if he did take steriods, it would only account for less than 2% of his homeruns due to his natural swing and power. His attitude is what gets him in trouble and that is why you see all the backlash. I saw him hit 741 in Dodger Stadium and the Dodger fans could not help from cheering for him.
Barry deserves the record and will be a first ballot Hall of Famer. He will go down as one of the best players in baseball.
By the way, Colorado walked Bonds three times last night and he ended up scoring two runs. The Giants won 9-5. Think about that.

If Barry Bonds was a real man and not an ego maniac he would realize what a feat Hank Aaron had accomplished without the use of steroids. He would retire and hold a press conference one homer short of the record and admit to steroid use and that he did not deserve to be held as an immortal like like Hank Aaron.

I don't think that many people will be happy when the record gets broken. Maybe in 50 years people will feel bad for the way Bonds is looked at, like Roger Maris was when he was chasing Ruth. Although I highly doubt that. If Bonds was more likeable, people would be happy for him, but between the steriods and his standoffish nature, not many people want to see him break the record.

It will spur more and more interest in baseball as Bonds approaches, and regardless if that interest is positive or mind-numbingly negative -- and a lot of it will be -- baseball as a business will consider it A Good Thing.
I don't understand where "deserve" factors in. Homers score runs; they don't come with a moral dimension. Nothing Bonds does diminishes Aaron or his career in any way. Baseball stats are a big pile o' numbers -- a FUN pile, true -- but that's all they are.

Most of those home runs are legit weather fans like him or not.
As for the record. Bonds will have to live with the fact that baseball and it's millions of fans with not honor nor cherish his accomplishments as they do Aaron.

If Bonds breaks the record, it would be something GReat no one has ACComplished in a long time in sports. Even though i didnt like him at first, he still proves to be a good baseball player, I personally dont think anyone will be able to digg deep into Bonds steroid issues, its just going to hang over his head til he retires. And plus Bonds isnt the Only one to use Steriods, alot of top notch players used steriods

information are in black and white - there are not any gray factors. i will settle for the checklist because of the fact this is the checklist, basically like I settle for the certainty that my eyes are green, my automobile is blue, and that Chicago is in Illinois. regardless of no remember if or no longer Bonds used steroids, HGH, amphetamines, crack or perhaps St. Joseph's baby's aspirin, he will have hit extra homestead runs in his occupation then the different participant. Do i like the certainty that a guy who's one among the biggest jerk to play interior the enormous leagues considering Ty Cobb is going to have that checklist? no longer one bit. yet he will have that checklist, there will be no asterisk beside it, and baseball followers, even those like me who understand rattling nicely Bonds has had a very good kind of chemical help, will basically might desire to income to stay with it. For the human beings who keep insisting on talking with regard to the asterisk beside Roger Maris' sixty one homestead run season in 1961, it in no way existed. The checklist books basically confirmed 2 information, Maris' sixty one homers in a 162 game season, and Ruth's checklist of 60 homestead runs for a 154 game season. The asterisk became in no way interior the books.
