Usually, There is a 'spam' option. If you select the junk emails and click 'spam' it stops the same people form emailing you again. It may take a while to get rid of them all, but it should work.

There is also a little piece of software called MailWasher.
Over the 3yrs I have used it. It has decreased my spam to maybe less than 10 a day. Since my email address has been all over the place and it has been my email address for nearly 8yrs now. You would think I get a ton of spam.....I don't.
The feature that helps get rid of spam is a option to send a notice back to the spammer saying that your email address does not exist. So when the spammer wants to sell his list. He will delete those addresses that were not real. So he can make more money on the list he sells. He deletes your email address and now you are on the path to receive less spam.
It is not a quick fix...but it is a permanent fix in the long term.

There are a lot of anti spam software packages and mail add ons out there. You'd have to be more specific as to what you are using to retrieve your e-mails. For example, in Outlook you can set the program to automatically move or delete mail with a keyword in the subject, so you could like enter Viagra or what have you, and all e-mails with Viagra in the subject get moved to a new folder or get dumped from the server.
I do all of my e-mails through the Yahoo mail beta right thru my browser, and it catches most of them.
Spam sucks but there are a lot of ways to defeat it.
You may also want to try checking with your ISP and seeing if they can do anything for you.

Spam is a fact of life. We all want to put an end to all of it.
You can't stop them from sending you junk mail unless you change your Email address. Then, they will just find you again.
TIP: The free Yahoo Mail uses filters to minimize the amount of Spam you receive, start using that.
Mine dropped from hundreds a month to less than five.

The only way to really prevent most of the emails is to keep your Email private.
Do not post it on forums, do not sign up for anything on the internet using your email address.
Anytime you use your email address for anything online, it will most likely be sold or scanned for by automated programs.
Get one generic email address to use for that kind of thing, and protect your primary email address from getting on all these spam lists.

Use a spam blocker or filter. They come in handy when preventing email. Check with your internet service provider to see if they can provide one.

depending on the e-mail program you use..IE: yahoo,hotmail,g-mail etc. most have an options section to set your e-mail preferences. go to spam section and adjust to your specific needs. also setting these to high may cause you to lose mail that accidently may be delivered to your bulk mailbox.
