the checkmark thing just means what is the square root of..... so the square root of 500 is 22.36067977

the sq. root of 108 is 10.39230485

-3 √64 = 1/ 3 √64 = 1/4

√-49,-7,√-49

If written as such ,√-49 is NOT -7 (-7^2=49)

√108 = √4.27 = √4.9.3 = √4.√9.√3 = 2.3.√3 = 6.√3

√500 = √5.√100 = 10√5
The key is to factorise the number and spot factors that come an even number of times.

-4√64 is rational, but √-49 irrational because you can't root it.

√108= 6√3
√500=10√5
